Free edition allows you to get acquainted with the contents of game files and edit some basic parameters. It's the most suitable for guys, who just want to take a look on the program or don't need to edit any advanced parameters or just don't want to spend money.
Player edition is the best choice for those, who aren't going to create any mods, but want to get control of how their Association and Career going. Other than editing players, this edition also allows you to swap players between teams, hire and fire staff and change a plenty of other teams' parameters.
Developer edition gives you all you need to create small and medium modifications. As Player edition, it allows you to take control over Association and My Player modes. But buying Developer license you also get the abilities to edit Colleges, Staff, Arenas, Jerseys and such an ultimate feature as editing Names' Parameters. With Developer edition you are sure, Jordan is called Jordan in the game, Jerseys have proper colors and collars, and your mod doesn't override any original files. It is also recommended to purchase Modder's Interfaces with this edition, so you will get the more ultimate editing experience.
Guru edition's name just says everything. If you consider yourself to be a guru of roster-editing, this edition is for you. If you work in a team, which creates Total Conversion Mods, this edition is SURELY for you. Take full control of roster files with Guru version of Tables: edit not only general things like Rotations, Arenas or Jerseys, but also make sure your Uttermost Mod changes such little, but pleasant things, as Playbooks, Draft Projection, Records and Hall Of Fame lists. *** Though it's possible to add some records to the original roster files (usually, one complete team (a team itself, its whole roster, arena, 4-5 jerseys, all the staff + some more little things)), files' sizes can't be changed, as otherwise the game refuses to load them. As of now, there isn't any information, displayed in the tool, which says, how much free space is left. So, be careful, as adding too many records will cause some names to disappear from the file. The same is about adding too many unique names.
(4) Although, it is possible to Clone and Delete records on Draft Class files, the total number of players on such a file must be 80. So, if you add too many players, some of them will be automatically deleted. And, vice versa, if you mark too many players as "Deleted", some of them won't be physically deleted to keep the total amount of players equal to 80.
